How to add user with encrypted home folder in Xubuntu 18.04 LTS

After a long while, upgraded from Xubuntu 16.04 LTS to Xubuntu 18.04 LTS and was in for a surprise. No encrypted home folder. Support for this was dropped as ecryptfs-utils was no more maintained by it’s maintainer.

Use GUI to add a new user with encrypted home folder

By default, Ubuntu 12.04 user manager does not allow you to add new users with encrypted home folders. Refer http://www.askmeaboutlinux.com/?p=1898 to know how it is done from the command line.

To add a new user using GUI, you should install: $ sudo apt-get install gnome-system-tools <enter>
